As part of their first-year seminar course, three students did research projects on factors associated with academic success. These research projects included everything from hypothesis creation to literature review to data collection and analysis, and finally, the writing of a formal research paper.
Georgia Southern University recently recognized nearly 200 students for excellence in academics on the Summer 2016 semester Dean's List. To be eligible for the Dean's List, a student must have at least a 3.5 grade point average and carry a minimum of 12 hours for the semester.

More than 400 first-year students welcomed to the Baldwin Wallace University campus this fall earned $5.2 million dollars in merit scholarships for their outstanding high school achievements. BW grants a wide range of scholarships to current students each year. Including merit and need-based scholarships, BW students received over $41 million in financial support from the University for the 2016-2017 academic year.
